Meet Marlina and Diego Rocha!

Contemporary Worship Leaders

The two met in Stuart, FL  where their love for worship music brought them together. This past January, they got married! Their desire to serve the Lord together through music has brought them to Trinity United Methodist Church.

  • "Our hope is to share the love of Christ and allow God to move in them through their music ministry. We are excited to see what God is going to do through this new contemporary service on Saturday nights!"

Diego Rocha, Colombian native, moved to Florida with his family 15 years ago. Five years later, he and his brother started their own carpentry business, Blue Coast Carpentry. Along the way Diego taught himself to play guitar. Loving music and worship, he got involved with worship teams in The Salvation Army and Christ Fellowship in Stuart.

Marlina Rocha was born in Boston, MA, but raised in Miami, FL. From the young age of nine she began taking voice lessons. Her love for music grew as she continued to study and take music classes in magnet art schools. At FIU she earned her Bachelor's Degree in Music Education. All throughout this time she was involved with The Salvation Army's worship teams in Miami. She's been leading worship since the age of 14 and is passionate about the power of music to move people closer to God.

The Gathering - A New Contemporary Worship Experience

Something’s missing. There’s this emptiness, a hollow feeling inside. Our wandering spirits never seem to find a home.

We at Trinity United Methodist Church wish to welcome you home with The Gathering, our Saturday evening contemporary worship service. If it’s been a while since you’ve been to church, or if you’ve never been to church, we invite you to join our friendly, welcoming, relaxed worship experience.

Beginning Saturday April 4, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. The Gathering will meet in Trinity’s beautiful sanctuary. Marlina and Diego Rocha, along with our new praise band, will lead us in worship. The music will be contemporary, beautiful and spirit-led. The message will be relaxed, conversational and relevant. This will be a place where everyone is not just welcomed but loved and embraced for who they are; children of God. Our vision is to be family-friendly, so kids are always welcome to worship alongside us, or they can have fun in our nursery or children’s church.

  • “Beyond anything else, the essence of church is its people,” says Anil Singh, Pastor of Trinity United Methodist Church. “The folks at The Gathering are all about growing together in their faith, learning to love God, to love one another and to live in the way Jesus Christ teaches. We would be blessed if you found a home with us.”

Following the service

  • There will be refreshments and a relaxed time of connecting and sharing as we continue to talk about the sermon and what God has placed on our hearts that week.
  • A youth discussion group and childcare will also be available during this connect group time.
